Westmead Development

The Westmead development, an initiative under Westminster City Council's 'Fairer Westminster' Strategy, aims to provide genuinely affordable housing in the area. This ambitious project involves transforming 41 Market Sale homes into a mix of social and intermediate rent dwellings, making the entire scheme 100% affordable. It promises to deliver 65 new affordable homes, each with private amenities like balconies or gardens, alongside enhanced green spaces for the community and 121 new cycle spaces.

Originally granted planning permission in March 2021 for the site of the former Westmead Care Home, the project has progressed with the near completion of clearance works and the commencement of demolition in late March 2023. The main construction is scheduled to start in Autumn 2023, with an anticipated completion early in 2025. This development represents a significant step towards addressing housing affordability in Westminster and enhancing the quality of life for its residents​
